HAPPY HAZARD

Posted on: Thu 05 Dec 2013
Having starred at Sunderland on Wednesday evening, Eden Hazard was in agreement with those who rated it his top performance of the season.

The Belgian winger gave the home defence trouble throughout the 90 minutes, creating the chance for Frank Lampard's equaliser and netting his seventh and eighth goals of the season, as well making other opportunities for his team mates and testing Vito Mannone in the Black Cats goal with further shots.
It led Jose Mourinho to declare it the best game Hazard had played under his management; opposing boss Gustavo Poyet said it was best anyone had performed against his side, and those Chelsea fans who travelled to the north-east to watch the 4-3 win are unlikely to disagree with the plaudits.
'This season it is the best game for me,' confirmed Hazard after the match.
'I scored two and I made one assist to help the team and I am so happy.
'It was a very difficult game, a very difficult first 15 minutes,' he added. 'But after we conceded a goal we continued to improve to try to score and we are happy with three points.'
Those points keep Chelsea in second place in the table, four points behind Arsenal. We meet the Gunners the game before Christmas, playing Stoke and Crystal Palace in the league before then while Arsene Wenger's side play Everton and Man City.
'Arsenal is top and now we need to take three points every game,' Hazard said on the title challenge.
'There are big teams with us and it is difficult, but we have a very good team, a young team but very good team and we will see after December and January.'
